It's time to think about a seaweed order. Is anyone up for soup mix and/or a Family Pack from the Seaweed Man? My intent is to order either the 3lb Family Pack (separate: kelp, alaria, dulse, nori, digitata, and soup mix) at $28.17/lb, or the 3lb Soup Mix for $26/lb (mixed & diced 60% digitata kelp, 25% alaria, 15% longicruris kelp)).
OGC: Meyer lemons got down to $1.98/lb right during the Holidays when no one was looking, but there wasn't enough Interest Expressed. Of course, they're now back up to $2.44/lb.
Ruby Grapefruit are $0.97 EA, a screaming deal.
Jonagold apples are $0.55 to $0.40EA for boxes of 64 to 88 (count) or a 20# box volume-filled box for $1.10/lb.
Does anyone want onions again? We just ran out. What about Interest for broccoli again? Does anyone have any hankerings?
HOMEMADE (& RAW!) MISO? The enzymes present in miso are phenomenally renowned. For this reason, I am endeavoring to make a batch here in the test kitchen. It takes quite awhile before it will be ready, but if anyone else wants to undertake such a project, it is reportedly fun and easy. From the Wild Fermentation book's resource section, I have discovered a family-owned business in Washington which cultivates all kinds of live ferment cultures. They are called Gem Cultures.
